2026 Supply Update

Tandem TruSteel infusion sets are experiencing global supply shortages and we expect intermittent supply interruptions until at least mid-2026.  Although there is no directly comparative steel infusion set available for Tandem pump users, there are a variety of alternative infusion set options to choose from.

These include:

• Autosoft 90 – 6 or 9mm straight in, automatic insertion – This set works well for most people
• Autosoft 30 – 13mm angled, automatic insertion
• Varisoft – 13 or 17mm angled, manual insertion

If you are having trouble with your current infusion set, consider trying a set with a different cannula length, angle, or insertion method.  Refer to our infusion set handout for more information.

The TruSteel™ infusion set features a very fine, 29-gauge, 90-degree stainless steel needle for those who prefer the reliability of steel sets but don’t want to compromise on comfort. With its additional adhesive pad, the TruSteel infusion set provides extra security against needle dislodging, which makes it a good choice for those who have reactions to plastic cannulas and those with a history of bent cannulas.
